Using environmental graphics to transform a showroom into an experience.
The Dallas Design Experience Center was created to inspire architects, designers, dealers, and clients by showcasing the possibilities of modular construction. While the architecture demonstrated what DIRTT could build, my role was to shape how people experienced the space.

Rather than adding graphics to the environment, the goal was to make them feel like they belonged there, creating an experience that reflected both the DIRTT brand and the spirit of Texas.
The Opportunity
Great showrooms don't just display products. They tell stories.
The challenge was developing an environmental graphics program that complemented the architecture while giving each space its own identity. Every graphic needed to feel integrated into the environment, creating moments of discovery that helped visitors connect with the space in meaningful ways.
My Role
Working alongside architects, interior designers, and project teams, I developed environmental graphics, room naming conventions, wayfinding, and feature installations that gave the showroom its personality.
Inspired by the landscapes and culture of Texas, every element was designed to reinforce the architecture rather than compete with it, creating a cohesive experience from arrival through departure.

Bringing It to Life
The experience was built around the idea that every space should tell a story.
Environmental graphics, custom wall installations, room identities, wayfinding, and digital content created a consistent visual language throughout the showroom while celebrating the landscapes that define Texas.
To help visitors visualize the possibilities of the space, I also art directed an animated walkthrough of the education centre. The animation complemented the physical environment, bringing the space to life before visitors experienced it firsthand and reinforcing the immersive nature of the showroom.
Rather than applying graphics as decoration, every element was thoughtfully integrated into the architecture, encouraging visitors to slow down, explore, and discover something new around every corner.

A Favourite Detail
One of my favourite parts of the project was designing an acoustic felt feature wall inspired by the topographic maps of Big Bend National Park.
Acoustic panels are typically viewed as purely functional, but I saw an opportunity to turn them into something more meaningful. By translating the landscape into layered contour lines, the wall became a sculptural feature that improved acoustics while creating a subtle connection to one of Texas' most iconic landscapes.
It's one of my favourite examples of how thoughtful design can transform a practical requirement into an experience that feels intentional, memorable, and rooted in place.
The Outcome
The Dallas Design Experience Center became more than a showroom. It became an environment that reflected the character of DIRTT while giving visitors a meaningful connection to the place they were in.
By integrating environmental graphics into the architecture, the space encouraged exploration, celebrated the Texas landscape, and demonstrated how thoughtful design can shape the way people experience a space.
