CREATING COMFORT FROM THE FIRST VISIT

Building a brand experience that put pets and their owners at ease.

Choosing a veterinarian is deeply personal. Before someone ever books an appointment, they're looking for reassurance, trust, and the confidence that their pet will be cared for like family.
For Canyon Meadows Veterinary Clinic, the goal wasn't simply to refresh a visual identity. It was to build a brand that reflected the compassion, professionalism, and warmth patients would experience the moment they walked through the door.
The Opportunity
Before exploring logos or colour palettes, the project began by defining the clinic's personality.
Through collaborative workshops and brand strategy sessions, we established the clinic's mission, values, tone of voice, and guiding principles. These became the foundation for every creative decision that followed, ensuring the identity reflected not only what the clinic did, but how it wanted people to feel.
My Role
Working closely with the clinic owner, I led the brand discovery process, developing the overall brand strategy before exploring multiple visual identity directions.
From brand positioning and messaging to logo concepts, environmental graphics, and marketing applications, every element was designed to create a welcoming, approachable experience that reflected the clinic's commitment to compassionate veterinary care.

Bringing It to Life
Rather than presenting a single logo, I developed multiple creative directions supported by mood boards, personality traits, messaging, storefront concepts, and real-world applications.
By visualizing everything from signage and uniforms to social media and pet bowls, the client could see how each identity would come to life beyond the logo itself.
This holistic approach helped transform branding from a design exercise into a conversation about the overall client experience.

A Favourite Detail
One of my favourite parts of the project was developing the brand strategy before exploring visual concepts.
Too often, branding begins with "What should the logo look like?"
Instead, we started with questions like How should clients feel when they walk through the door? What personality should the clinic project? How do we build trust before a pet owner even meets the veterinarian?
Once those answers became clear, every creative decision had a purpose. The logo wasn't the solution. It was the result of the strategy behind it.

The Outcome
The project gave Canyon Meadows Veterinary Clinic a thoughtful brand foundation rooted in empathy, trust, and compassionate care.
By defining the clinic's voice, values, and visual identity together, the result was more than a collection of design concepts. It became a strategic framework for how the clinic could communicate consistently and create a welcoming experience across every client touchpoint.
